A synchronous event has occurred. And from what I've read, this one doesn't happen very often. When a Blue Moon is a Supermoon and it coincides with a Lunar eclipse, a Blood Moon is born. That seemed like a good enough reason to get up early to experience it.
We decided to set up the camera just off Trail 302 at the Dreamy Draw Recreation Area. We hiked up the trail for about 30 minutes, set up the camera and waited. It was worth the wait.
As the sun rose, the last sliver of moon held on as for long as possible.
